I was scrolling through the pictures in my download folder and this one popped up. My immediate reaction was "what the heck?" That was quickly followed by me trying to find my glasses in order to see the image better. After a few moments of searching, I found my glasses on top of my head. I put them on. They were not helpful, as I still couldn't discern what the heck this was a picture of. 

Finally, it came to me. It's forsythia flowers in simple syrup in a jar.

A couple of my children made forsythia syrup a few weeks ago, and I lifted the towel covering the hot ball jars to snap a quick photo of the process. And then immediately forgot taking the picture.
