[Nevertheless] Some Days You Need to Keep It Real [Advent 8]

Some days you just have to slip some Birkenstocks on your feet and go outside in below freezing temperatures in your nightgown to take pictures of the sunrise, not caring what the neighbors think. You need to see the beauty with your own eyes, unobstructed by the windows you still haven't gotten around to cleaning. Some days you need the reminder of the beauty in the world, the hope the dawn of a new day brings, especially when you know the day could quickly become an emotional trainwreck.

Some days you need to tell God exactly what you think about certain things with words that may not be too appropriate for such a conversation. And then you need to ask for the ability to forgive, to find peace, to say and do the right things.
