a mysterious [moment]

[moment 138]

We tend to play Dungeons & Dragons wherever we go. That includes our trip to Pennsylvania to visit my in-laws. We packed up our spell books and our dice and I printed off some blank character sheets with plenty of room to write on them, and trusted in Mal's mystery D&D plan.

We chose names for our characters and a few things about their personalities and beliefs. That was all. Mal designed the rest of the characters - from race to class to possessions. As we played the game, we learned more about our characters, who started the first session laying on the ground with their memories all but gone. As we interacted with people and places along our journey, we remembered things about ourselves and our pasts.

I was a fun and engaging way to play Dungeons & Dragons and I'm very glad Mal thought of it and put all the work into it.

I was also grateful each day for the hours of respite, rest, and levity that our sessions provided.
