[a moment] of improvement

[moment 129]

Our house was built in 1984. When we purchased it, it had its original tan (beige? cream? white?) carpet. We ripped most of it up, but the stairs remained covered in the sad, matted mess. I finally couldn't stand it any longer, and asked my husband to rip it up. Above is the result.

Not an improvement, if you ask me.

So I did what any logical person would do - I paid my children to help me paint the stairs.

The further we got into painting, the worse the dark brown railings looked, so we painted those.

And then the walls looked even worse than they already did, so those are up next.
