[unexpected] tattoo

How can one get an [unexpected] tattoo? Let me tell you...

These days, when I drive to Vermont to see Jacob and Haley at Sign of Life Tattoo, I go without a plan. I have a plethora of ideas for tattoos, but usually not an exact plan.

The wallpaper in my kitchen from when I was very little? Ok... let's do this...

How about an owl? We came up with this...

I have this really cool gargoyle character from one of my D&D campaigns ... how about this?

And then for my 51st birthday, I took two of my kids to get tattoos as their Christmas gifts. And I got a tattoo as well, because it was my birthday. I made sure the "kids" had plans. And they went first. And I went through the photos on my phone for inspiration. Suddenly it became incredibly clear. There could be no other tattoo to wrap up 2025. 

It wasn't a tattoo my tattoo artist had ever done. Or thought of doing. Or even knew could even remotely be a thing to tattoo, nevermind something that actually happened in real life.

That's my Mom (who has dementia and is a hoot to hang around with). At Senor Panchos in Middlebury, CT. Drinking salsa ... as one does when one gives zero ducks and the salsa is superb. 

I mean, why not? Why not drink salsa and why not get a tattoo of the most [unexpected] and iconic happening of 2025, at least for me!
