[reason 179] surviving the flood

There have been flood warnings daily since we arrived. The days and nights have been melding together - downpour after downpour, thunderstorm after thunderstorm, flood after flood.

First, our campsite flooded. Then our kitchen tent flooded overnight. Hours of cleanup later, we realized parts of our tent were swamped. 

We rearranged the kitchen tent and our tent. We put a rain fly over our kitchen tent. We did a ton of laundry because just about every towel was wet - and half our clothing. 

For days, I felt like all I was doing most of the day was sopping up water and tweaking things to make them safer, easier, and dryer. 

I have consumed many hot beverages and given thanks over and over for our instant pot, crock pot, rice cooker, and electric kettle. Having hot food to eat even when we're unable to build a fire has been such a comfort. 

Blue skies are in our future, but for now I'm just thankful we are able to weather this storm!
