[reason 156] early morning baking


I love baking early in the morning when the house is quiet and still. 

After a nearly sleepless night, I decided to get up and be productive instead of tossing and turning in bed. I knew that granola needed to be made and there were a couple of bananas that were just the right amount of too ripe for banana bread. And realizing that some members of my family are allergic to bananas, I decided to also make pumpkin muffins. 

My family woke up to a wonderful smelling house, yummy treats for breakfast, and an exhausted mother. But it was worth it as I curled up in bed with a slice of warm banana bread and an iced macchiato.
