Needing Something [new] / getting the [unexpected]

 

Two of my children gifted me a computer (!!!) for Christmas. This means I can do so many things more easily, including blogging. Typing on my phone just wasn't working. Typing on a computer is so much easier. 

As it's New Year's Eve, I feel that it's time for something new. A new word. A new year of blogging when life allows. 

I've spent the greater part of this year caregiving for my Mom. It swiftly went from several hours a day a few days a week to twenty-four hour care. I've lived more at my parents' house than my own for the second half of the year. 

If there is one constant in my life, it's the unexpected. I didn't expect to replace nearly every major appliance this year. I didn't expect to spend so much time worrying about whether or not another human being is pooping. I didn't expect someone drinking salsa to become an iconic moment in our lives. 

And it looks like life will continue throwing the [unexpected] into the mix.
