[reason 11] Consideration for Others
After spending the past few years realizing just how ableist our world is, it is always refreshing to see even the smallest of considerations for those of us with disabilities.
As the four of us - two walking and two in wheelchairs - made our way around the mall, I became frustrated that on the online map of the mall, I couldn't find the location of the elevator because it wasn't marked. Knowing that Macys has an elevator, we chose to use that one. As we approached our next shopping destination, we saw the ever-elusive mall elevator - and the sign.
Although the mall could do better in marking the location of the elevator on their online map, the sign on the elevator asking others to be considerate to customers in wheelchairs was nice to see.
Now if only airports had baggage porters.
