[reason 35] family history
My uncle - my father's brother - put together the family genealogy and gifted it to his family members for Christmas. This inspired me to take a couple days when I wasn't feeling up to moving to hunker down with my computer in the comfort of my bed and delve into my family's past. I found birth records, death records, marriage certificates, and baptismal records. I may have gone a little deeper into the genealogy than I had planned. I organized and printed everything and put it in a binder to bring to my Dad, whom I thought might be interested in what I found.
On our next visit, I brought the updated genealogy, along with yet another album of family photos that I'd put together and dinner. It turned out to be a wonderful evening of family history and sharing memories.
Not only that, but the time I spent learning about my ancestors gave me precious insight into the past. Now to work on the genealogy of my mother's side of the family...
How cool is this? I wish I had time to do it.
