[a moment] to celebrate new life

I volunteer with a refugee resettlement ministry and today we hosted a baby shower for a family we resettled a couple years ago. It was amazing to see this prospering family filled with joy throughout the celebration of the new life they are going to welcome into the world next month. 

Knowing the circumstances of their flight from one country to another to another to escape different types of threats, as well as the losses they suffered along the way made this moment all that much more precious.
