[new] birthday

 

Our newest child, who joined our family last January 30th through adult adoption turned two today. Ok...so she's a couple decades and change older than two, but this is the second birthday she spent with us, so we went with two. 

One mention from her of her possible obsession with BokHee from Grey's Anatomy and I whipped up decorations, party favors, and party hats...and figured out that a (new) sharps container made a good utensil container and fitting table decoration. A blue sheet on the table and we were ready for surgery a party!

Zayla ... I love you. I loved you when I met you, when you moved in, and when we asked you to be our daughter forever. I love you through the difficult nights and days, the difficult conversations, and the difficult situations. I'm so happy to call you daughter and my heart still leaps every time you call me Mom. I love you forever and always and no matter what.
