[a moment] of ... fun?

My children are very into Dungeons and Dragons and they are also very creative. Most of them are also experiential learners and prefer hands-on experiences to written or verbal descriptions. 

This came into play during a session of Dungeons and Dragons wherein the DM made actual drinkable "potions" for our characters (us) to drink. 

Some of them were tasty. Some...

not as pleasant to consume. Most of the potions gave our characters some sort of boost, albeit temporary, which came in handy during the battle that followed.

We had a lot of fun ... mostly ... trying our potions and attempting to determine their ingredients ... grenadine, vinegar, olive oil, kalamata olive "juice", apple juice, milk, soy sauce ... fruit punch.

These moments are just plain fun, and sometimes that's exactly what we need.
