Adventures with [Henri]

[Adventure 240]

7:something AM. I drag myself out of bed, take a photo out the window of the third floor of my parents' house, and head downstairs. Eat pumpkin bread and take meds.

10:10AM: Almost time for the Hurricane Hymn Sing. Rain and wind, but not too bad.

noonish: We remember that lunch is a thing. Rain. Some wind.

The rest of the afternoon we watched Clue, Home Alone, and Home Alone 2. We worked on my backup character for an evil Dungeons and Dragons campaign. I made hot dogs and hamburgers and cut up a metric ton of watermelon for dinner.

We played Relative Insanity.

And eventually made our way to bed.

After all the preparation and packing and stress and worrying and relocating five of the seven of us to my parents' house just in case trees fell at our house, Henri shifted east and instead of being faced with 50-70mph winds, they most likely maxed out at 30mph gusts.

Nevertheless, we got to spend quality time with Gramma and Papa. We had good food and good conversations.

And we got to laugh together about funny memories and a card game that was hysterically amusing at times. And at the fact that we left their house the next day after the "worst of the storm" and got completely soaked in the process. We got more rain the day after Henri left than we did the day of.
