[reason 246] camp onyx

Onyx has dysautonomia, functional neurological disorder, and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, among other things. Their health had been fairly good for a couple months, and then started taking a nosedive a few weeks before we headed for Camp Calumet.

We were having a conversation with the other seen members of our family via group text when Onyx passed out - part of their dysautonomia. I let the chat know Onyx would be back with us shortly and then we ended up having to explain syncope to our newest family member, who felt really bad for Onyx. Not wanting her to feel too bad, we reassured her that this is a form of "normal" for Onyx. Not that it makes it not suck, but that Onyx is experienced living with it.

My husband made a good point, though...
