Soon there will be a child snuggled safe and sound in each of those beds. These children will have spent somewhere around twenty-four hours travelling from Qatar to New York to Connecticut with their parents, including around sixteen hours in an airplane, several hours in a vehicle, and a few hours being "processed" out of one country and into another. 

As I took this photo, I also took in the moment of anticipation of the good things - and the challenging things - that are to come in the next days, weeks, and months. 

I'm excited and nervous and hopeful ... and they probably are, too.
