taking [a moment] to enjoy the view

[moment 235]

As I sat on my bench outside the emergency department - I was there for five hours - I looked around, noticing the great number of people looking down at their phones. Not one person was looking up. Not up at eye level, nor up at the tops of the trees swaying in the breeze, the glorious blue sky providing the perfect background for their performance. Not a single person seemed to take note of the fluffy white clouds dancing their way across the sky.

I realize that the people there had a lot on their minds, as did I. I also realized that the past few years have taught me to take time to appreciate the view, no matter where I am or what I'm going through.
