[a moment] in the woods: camp day eighteen

[moment 196]

The morning was a blur of packing and organizing, and then it was time for three of us to head to Barnstormers to see Into the Woods.

The performance was wonderful. For me, it was especially nice that I could sit in a theater and enjoy the show, knowing everyone was required to wear masks. It was also a lot of fun for me to watch Austen and Onyx watching the show, noticing them both enraptured by the play itself and at the same time checking out costuming and sets and tech.

We arrived back at camp in time for hot dogs and s'mores.

It was our last midnight night at Camp Calumet, so we decided to play some Cards Against Humanity, which led to copious laughter, especially since we seemed to be pulling all the Jesus and God related cards ... at "Jesus Camp."

Of all the card combinations played, this seemed to be our favorite:

As the teens and twenties got ready for bed, the parents packed the card table and folding chairs and wheelchairs and a bunch of last minute stuff into the van and eventually climbed into bed ourselves.

The plan for the next day was for four of us to get as early a start as possible to go to VT and visit Jake - and Jim and Eris to take care of the air mattresses and last two tents and head home themselves ... Into the woods and out of the woods and home before dark.
