Staying Home is an [Adventure]

[Adventure 14]

We planned to go on a trip for our 25th anniversary and, for obvious reasons, that didn't happen. It's simply not safe to travel. I don't even feel safe venturing to the grocery store. So we stay home. Eventually we'll go somewhere, just not right now.

Considering we're in month eleven of this quarantine, staying home is getting old for all seven of us. There are only so many things we can do between these walls. We need a plan.

So here it is! We're going to:

- make a list of all the movies we casually mention we need to see as we're doing other things and then never actually watch - and we're going to watch at least one of them a week.

- make a list of all the foods we want to eat that we haven't had in a while and either learn to cook them ourselves or find a place that delivers (on paydays - our two nights a month we order out).

- play every game we own. And donate the ones we don't enjoy.

- do every puzzle in the house. And share them once we're done.

- go through the memory jar contents that are saved in my closet as a family once a week ... and then spend time that week scrapbooking them and seeing if we have photos to go with them.

- go through all the boxes that live in various nooks and crannies in our house and see what's in them. Some haven't been explored since we moved here twenty-some-odd years ago. It will be like a treasure hunt - and hopefully we can decrease the clutter in the process!

- get out of the house on nice days and clean up our yard - and find creative ways to beautify it.

- have more evenings outside around a fire sharing stories and memories and roasting marshmallow. Or fruit.

- take out crafting items when we're looking for something to do and challenge someone to a crafting duel.

If all else fails, we'll find more furniture that's too broken to fix or give away and destroy it. Again.

And in staying home, we're staying safe. And we aren't potentially getting others -our ourselves - sick. We're saving lives!

Who says staying home can't be an adventure?
