[reason 194] black trumpets
My husband is an avid mushroom hunter. He remembers where the best mushroom spots are just about anywhere we go. While at camp, he found a treasure trove of black trumpet mushrooms and used an extra large bin lid on which to sun dry them.
Not only are the mushrooms wonderful to eat, but they also proved to be a great conversation starter. People always have questions about the mushrooms Jim collects, especially the safety of eating wild mushrooms and where he finds them.
At over sixty dollars a pound wholesale, finding these black trumpets affords us the luxury without the price tag. If there's one bright spot among all the rain we've been having, it's that it's wonderful for mushroom foraging!
