[a moment] to reflect on two decades

Austen celebrates twenty years on this Earth today. 

Austen has spent the past year doing so many things, despite the limitations of covid (especially while having an immunocompromised parent) and their own health issues...from trips to New York City to revamping their room from floor to ceiling. 

In looking through photos for this post, I discovered a trend...

I digress...

Over the past year, Austen has:

 

... and so much more.

Most importantly, they have learned more about who they are and how they identify, they have explored options for employment, they have taken the first steps to figuring out their medical issues, and they have continued to be a kind, caring, creative person. 

And yes, I realize the cake in the fist photo says Happy Birthday Onyx. Austen does, too ... because they made that gorgeous gluten and food dye free cake!

Happy 20th, Austen! 

Next year we'll celebrate 21 at the Robin Hood Faire (it's on a Sunday!!!).
