Sinful [Adventure]

[Adventure 201]

Sometimes you just need a change of scenery ... and some sinfully good gluten free waffles. (And we quite enjoyed the "Friends with Benedicts" play on words.)

Austen mentioned having gone to Portland, ME while an L&S at Camp Calumet and there was great interest in the shops they described. It was about an hour and twenty minute drive, so we hopped in the van and off we went. About twenty minutes from our destination, I suggested that perhaps we might want to find somewhere to eat lunch and begin our time in Portland that way. I mentioned having seen something about Sinful Kitchen online and said the words "cinnamon roll waffles" and it was immediately decided that that's where we were going. It was one of the best decisions of our entire vacation!

We also appreciated that they 86'd the mushrooms instead of simply putting "no mushrooms."

We then continued to downtown Portland, where we walked, and walked, and walked, and found our favorite store - Arcana. Once we saw their sign, we knew it was a good place to be. Sofia (the dog) greeted us, and just about every one of us made a purchase there. And they had a bathroom, for which we were eternally grateful.

It was a good, but tiring day. We'll definitely be doing it again next year...unless we get back to Calumet sooner than that.
