[Seek] Time

[Advent 25]

We planned for months.

And then plans changed. Possible covid exposure. Then the person got a negative test. And we got negative tests. But their family members got positive tests. And eventually they did, too. Ten days afterwards, we were all symptom and fever free. We should be good, but we needed to be extra safe. So we cancelled plans, rejoicing that fourteen days quarantine was up on Christmas Day.

We got to get and set up my parents' Christmas tree, and my sister's family got to help decorate it.

We get to bake a ton of Christmas cookies and make several lasagnas and now have more time to do so. And we get to share them with family on Christmas Day, together (and over Zoom).

And if one or more of us does end up getting sick, we kept everyone safe.

And if none of us get sick, no harm done, and we didn't spend our time together anxious about spreading covid or paranoid about every twinge.

And most of all, whatever happens, we will appreciate the time we get to spend together, whatever that looks like. We will make good memories and share old ones. We will make this time special.
