[Nevertheless] It's a Tree [Advent 16]

With Christmas just over a week away, and with all the things happening before then, I should be baking or cleaning or preparing gifts or something.

Instead, I decided to work on our "tree." Our Christmas tree is a collection of mismatched picture frames in which I place photos of our favorite memories from the year. It would have helped if I'd remembered to print out more photos, but I made due with what we had. I think it came out pretty well.

Included on our tree is a rare photo of an Alexander, complete with blurry hand as he attempted to block his face; a collection of photos from Camp Calumet; another from Our Savior Lutheran Church, Thomaston, CT; another from Epoch Arts; and one with hiking photos. There's one of Haley holding a non-binary flag and another of her and her girlfriend. There's a photo of our children, and one of our kids, my husband, and their grandmother and great-grandmother in PA. There's even a photo of my husband and I.

I love our "tree." I love the tapestry of memories it holds. I love seeing it throughout the year, a reminder of the things we've experienced, the fun we've had, the hard work, the love.
