[Nevertheless] We Anticipate Good
More often than not, things don't go as planned.
You can spend weeks, months, even years preparing for something, only to have the opportunity pulled out from under you.
And sometimes that's what needs to happen to make room for something else. Something you didn't expect, but are being called to do.
New Start Ministry was to resettle a family of three, nevertheless issues arose that delayed their arrival. Apartment lease signed, apartment furnished and pantry stocked, we wondered how to proceed. Then we were offered an opportunity to resettle a family of four from the same country, with the promise that when the family of three was ready to take refuge, they would be well taken care of by another group.
And so, as we pray for the safety and progress toward resettlement for our "original" family, we move forward in new anticipation for good things to come for the family whose arrival is scheduled for just a few weeks from now. We pray that all goes as planned, knowing that it could be messy, but hoping for smooth, safe, on time travel. We shift our focus from what could have been to what is to come.
