Quassy [Adventure]

[Adventure 267]

It all began when a wonderful friend messaged with an opportunity that was just what my kids - and their friends - needed.

I quickly asked who was interested, figured out details of what we needed to do for both the queer kids who got to go free and their older siblings and siblings' significant others that wanted to join in the fun. It was determined that this was not an activity for someone with mobility issues, a migraine, and exhaustion, so I opted to stay home. I researched, came across a flash sale for tickets (with souvenir cup and cotton candy), and purchased tickets for young adults and the adult who often acts like a young adult but is not. Young or adult, that is.

The next day, Jim (token straight dad), Austen, Eris, and Onyx headed out to pick up Sophia (Austen's girlfriend) after Fynn and Mal had something come up and decided to stay home. This freed up two tickets, so I posted on social media that we had two tickets for the weekend for Quassy up for grabs and began texting and messaging friends to offer them a free trip to the amusement park.

Soon, I got a call from Jim, saying that, since the LGBTQIA+ under 18 kids got in free through the Pride in the Hills event, he got in free as well, so we actually had a third ticket to give away. I contacted more friends. No luck. Finally someone responded to my social media post and was delighted in a free day at Quassy.

The Pride kids and chaperone got free t-shirts, sunglasses, food, and drink. They enjoyed the rides, and also time spent together with friends, as three of their friends met them at the park. They returned home, tired, but happy. It was a day well spent.
